Walking on Air

A pale teal that still counts as a color on the wall. Vista Paint's designation for it is 7434.

64.0 on the light-reflectance scale puts it in the middle third, which is the part of the scale with the fewest surprises. Chroma 18.4 keeps the teal present without letting it run the room.

The teal is more noticeable under cool, daylight-balanced bulbs than under standard warm ones, which tend to mute it. A dependable choice where a room gets good natural light and a pure white would feel sterile. Dunn-Edwards Angel Feather pairs well as a second surface - close enough in feel to belong in the same room, far enough in lightness to read as two distinct walls (about 23.1 points apart on the reflectance scale).

For anyone tied to a different brand, Benjamin Moore Serenity (2055-60) is the nearest stand-in, at a delta-E of 1.69. Matte holds the color truest; a subtle sheen will lift it half a shade under lamps.

It is lighter than 67 percent of the Vista Paint range. Vista Paint lists it in the K codes, alongside 1,318 other colors.
