Sweet Flower

It has just enough cool violet-gray to have a personality, and just little enough to stay out of the way. Sweet Flower is Vista Paint's 1258.

Chroma 3.6 means the color content is small, which is exactly why the cool violet-gray matters so much - there is nothing else here to distract from it. This is a color worth testing in the specific room it is going in - cool colors shift more than warm ones do between north and south walls.

At LRV 77.0 it sits where most rooms want a wall: light enough to feel open, dark enough to have a surface. Open-plan walls, hallways, anywhere the color has to work in several exposures at once.

For a secondary wall, Dunn-Edwards Lighthouse gives a natural step up in brightness without feeling like a mismatch (roughly 13.3 LRV points apart).

By the numbers, PPG Water Iris (1170-1) and this color are indistinguishable - delta-E 0.62, well under what the eye can separate. This is not a rare shade: 4 colors from other brands sit within delta-E 2 of it. Matte holds the color truest; a subtle sheen will lift it half a shade under lamps.
