Saffron Smile

Saturated enough that everything else in the room answers to it. Vista Paint files it as 7872.

Chroma 42.1 is high enough to dominate a room's palette rather than join it. Used across a whole room it needs restraint in the decor - furniture and textiles that stay quiet so the wall can carry the color.

South light flatters it. In a north-facing room it can turn cold, so sample that wall first. LRV 77.0 puts it in the middle of the scale, but saturation, not lightness, is what you will react to.

Not quite yellow, not quite orange - this sits right where the two meet, so the room's own lighting ends up deciding which one you actually see. Worth checking before committing to a full wall: blues and cool greys nearby - in a floor, a rug, a piece of furniture - will read as a clash here, not a complement, since the two colors sit at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Warm metals - brass, aged gold, unlacquered fixtures - gain a contrast against this that they do not have against a lighter wall; it is a common reason people choose a color this deep in the first place.

If the wall needs to be washable, eggshell is the highest sheen worth considering before the color starts looking artificial under light.

Behr Chilled Lemonade (390B-4) matches it closely enough that no one will tell them apart on a wall. Only 2 other-brand colors land within delta-E 2 of this one, which makes it comparatively unusual.

It is lighter than 83 percent of the Vista Paint range. Vista Paint lists it in the K codes, alongside 1,318 other colors.
