Glory of Spring

Pale enough to open a room, with a yellow-green strong enough to still read as a deliberate choice. Vista Paint catalogs it as Glory of Spring, 7714.

81.0 on the light-reflectance scale puts it in the middle third, which is the part of the scale with the fewest surprises. A chroma of 19.0 is enough to register as a real color choice, without the intensity that would force the rest of a room to match it.

Warm bulbs will soften it; daylight bulbs push it further cool. Light enough for whole-room coverage while still reading as a real color choice rather than a white. Dunn-Edwards Boysenberry Shadow makes a good second wall color here - different enough to read as a real choice, close enough to still feel related (about 8.6 points apart in light reflectance).

By the numbers, PPG Passionate Pause (1220-2) and this color are indistinguishable - delta-E 0.64, well under what the eye can separate. Eggshell is a common middle ground here - enough durability for a lived-in room without the sheen that would draw attention to wall imperfections.

It is lighter than 86 percent of the Vista Paint range. Vista Paint lists it in the K codes, alongside 1,318 other colors.
